The best bonding slate on the market

Slate is an increasingly popular material used for roof, facade and interior finishes. Most of the tiles covered with slate are installed mechanically, however, there are new types of tiles that, due to new demand, are created so that they need to be installed with glue.

The thin, uneven and natural surface of the tiles for mechanical installation means that the tiles subjected to high temperatures could be separated from the substrate, and bonding is needed, for example, in the case of slate finishing of a facade covered with Styrofoam insulation.

A new way of installing slate facade tiles

This type of tiles must be at least 1 cm thick. In order to adapt well to the polystyrene surface, the tiles are specially calibrated to achieve the right smoothness.

Thanks to the different formats, which have a length of 60 cm, but can have different widths of 8, 30 or 60 cm, respectively, there is a great deal of freedom in the arrangement of the facade.

Two styles of finishing with facade slates

The manufacturer made sure that we have a choice of finishing with slate tiles or slate strips. The two options are very different in appearance and even parameters, and when deciding on either option we must take into account which one will fit more with the surroundings, possibly the interior. Slate tiles allow a high degree of design freedom. Their thickness is 10 millimeters, they have beveled perimeter edges.

They are suitable for both wall and floor, and come in several sizes: 60 x 60 cm, 60 x 30 cm, 40 x 40 cm and 30 x 30 cm. They are extremely versatile and perfectly match virtually all materials, such as wood, steel, ceramics, glass or concrete. Slate strips, on the other hand, can have different thicknesses, so we have a lot of room for maneuver in building the space of the facade, creating the effect of a three-dimensional wall. Thickness can be 10, 15 or 20 mm. Like slate tiles, they have chamfered perimeter edges, except that the minimum edge length is 6 cm for slate strips.

On the other hand, the maximum edge length is 40 cm. It is worth noting that when laying tiles externally, the size of one must not exceed 0.12 square meters.

The slates are fireproof, so they will slow down the spread of a possible fire and reduce its effects.
